Taiwan Drafts Law to Legalize Gay Marriage
Late last year, Taiwan's cabinet drafted a law to legalize gay marriage. No other Asian country goes nearly that far on gay
rights. In most Asian countries, laws about homosexuality are murky. Gay sex is rarely prosecuted, but that doesn't mean gays
aren't discriminated against. So the news from Taiwan seems to be an important breakthrough. But there is less to the draft
law than meets the eye.
