Arizona native Carson Mell lives in East Hollywood. His short films are often published on McSweeney's Wholphin, and have screened twice at Sundance and at many other festivals. This August, the San Francisco Film Society hosted a solo exhibition of his work.  One of his stories will appear in the next issue of McSweeney's, Issue 30. Saguaro is his first novel.
