Central Nigeria Unmasked at the Cantor Arts Center
The Benue River Valley in central Nigeria is the source of some
of the most abstract, dramatic, and inventive sculpture in Africa. Discover the history of the region through masks, elaborate
bronze and iron regalia, and more at Central Nigeria Unmasked at the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford through October,

duo Japandroids are bringing their raw and thrilling primal rock to the Independent on Thursday.
Ojai North! kicks off a festival of inventive music with John Luther Adams' Inuksuit,
which LA Weekly listed as one of the top five 'Classical Music Concerts We're Most Looking Forward to in 2012.' Another
promising highlight is Ojai North's artistic director Leif Ove Andsnes' collaborationg with pianist Marc Andre Hamelin in
a four hand version of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. Ojai North! runs Tuesday through Thursday at Hertz Hall on the
Berkeley campus.

The Stuff that Dreams are Made Of
Named after the famous Humphrey
Bogart line, The Stuff that Dreams are Made Of is an exhibition, presented by the SF Museum and Historical Society,
that highlights the filmmakers and movies (Vertigo, The Maltese Falcon, Take the Money and Run) that
have put San Francisco front and center on the silver screen. Also on display will be paintings by Vertigo star Kim
Novak. Check it out starting tomorrow through June 24, 2012 at the Old Mint.
Kate Miller-Heidke is pretty rad. Don't believe me? She played an adult baby
in a musical based on The Jerry Springer Show. And she named her side project Fatty Gets a Stylist. And she wrote a
song about the audacity of an ex trying to friend her on Facebook. Need I say more? She's playing Cafe du Nord in San Francisco
this Sunday.
Glam pop gang the Scissor Sisters are known for their in-your-face cheekiness
and flashy live shows and they'll be bringing both to Oakland's Fox Theatre this Sunday a.k.a. Father's Day. Take your pops.

You don't want to miss Glen Campbell's farewell tour. After a diagnosis of
Alzheimers, he is calling it quits, but not before one last hurrah, featuring three of his kids in the band. That's sweet
enough to melt even the Grinch's cold heart. Glen Campbell plays the Mountain Winery in Saratoga on Wednesday and the Wells
Fargo Center on June 22, 2012.
