Internship Summary:
KQED is working with the Ocean Future Society to produce a PBS documentary series of Jean Michel Cousteau's marine expeditions. Interns gain experience within three KQED departments: Interactive, Education Network and Communications by assisting with the creation of content for the award-winning website, lesson plans, and publicity for seasons two and three of the series.
Internship Duties:
- Reviews and recommends underwater imagery for web site and publicity materials.
- Reviews and recommends existing web sites on oceans and ocean education.
- Digitizes and logs original footage.
- Creates list of potential online sites and media for targeted promotion.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Internship Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and research skills.
- Ability to complete projects independently according to tight deadlines and to balance multiple assignments.
- Highly motivated individuals with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Computer skills a must.
- Ideal candidate also has knowledge of Photoshop, video compression, Final Cut Pro and basic HTML.
- Experience doing online research.
