Ruth Asawa Retrospective in San Francisco

The most comprehensive exhibit ever of works by San Francisco-based artist Ruth Asawa is currently on display at the city's de Young Museum. Asawa first won international recognition in the 1950s as a sculptor. Art historians say this retrospective confirms her stature as a major American abstract artist on the eve of her 81th birthday.
