Landmines in the Outfield
The idea of exporting baseball to Vietnam, which fought for decades to rid itself of colonial forces, may sound a bit odd. But that's exactly what a group of American Vietnam War veterans recently set out to do, with help from Danny Graves, the only Vietnamese-American player in the major league. They traveled to central Vietnam, which suffered the heaviest bombing during the war, to inaugurate the country's only baseball diamond and give Vietnamese students their first taste of the game.
