Lunch Break Case ... San Jose Baseball

State Court to Rule on Lunch Break Case
The California Supreme Court is expected to rule today on whether employers must order their workers to take breaks, or simply make break time available. The case, filed in 2004, involves workers at the parent company of Chili's Restaurants. They argue that bosses who don't order break time are taking advantage of employees who do not want to leave when the shop gets busy. The company says employees should have discretion in taking breaks.

San Jose Baseball Advocates Make Case for the A's
It's a good time to be a sports fan in San Jose. In hockey, the Sharks play the Blues tonight in San Jose's ninth-straight playoff run. In soccer, the Earthquakes are enjoying the best start in their history. Many people in San Jose would like even more professional sports in town. They're hoping the A's get permission to move south from Oakland.
