Brown Speaks on Gas Price Jump
The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in California has hit $4.18 and climbing. That was one of the topics for Governor Brown on NBC's Meet the Press yesterday. Brown said he dealt with soaring gas prices last time he was governor through fuel efficiency and new technologies.
Bay Area Brings Home Few Oscars, ILM Wins For "Rango"
The Bay Area has a thriving filmmaking community, but its members didn't have a lot at stake last night at the Oscars. Emeryville's Pixar was shut out of the nomination round. But Rango, produced by San Francisco-based Industrial Light and Magic, won the Oscar for best animated feature. "Moneyball", set and partially filmed in Oakland, was nominated for 6 Oscars but did not win any.
