SF Considers Camping Ban at Castro Plazas
Today San Francisco supervisors will consider a measure to ban camping at Harvey Milk and Jane Warner Plazas in the Castro. Supervisor Scott Wiener says the city needs explicit local legislation. But homeless advocates say it unfairly targets people living on the streets.

Gov. Gets $1.7 Million for Tax-Raising Ballot Initiative
Governor Jerry Brown has raised $1.7 million for his proposed ballot inittiave that would temporarily raise the state's sales and income taxes. The extra revenue would go toward schools and counties.

Oakland Drops Plan for Jack London Ballpark to Concentrate on Coliseum
The dream of a waterfront baseball stadium near Oakland's Jack London Square seems to be dead. The end of Alameda County's redevelopment agency also means the end of the site known as Victory Court. But Oakland will keep pushing for a new A's ballpark at the site of the current Coliseum.
