New Organization Takes Aim at Spam E-mail
A new effort is underway in Silicon Valley to fight spam and phony messages. Today Google, Yahoo!, PayPal and others announced that they've joined D-MARC, an organization charged with creating a new framework for authenticating emails.

Stanford, Columbia to Collaborate on Media Innovation
Stanford is poised to help shape the future of the news industry, as its School of Engineering begins a new partnership with New York's Columbia Journalism School. Today the universities announced a $30 million gift from Helen Gurley Brown, the longtime editor of Cosmopolitan magazine.
