Oakland May Lay Off 1,000 as Redevelopment Funds Dry Up
More than 1,000 Oakland city employees could receive layoff notices by tomorrow. California's redevelopment agencies are losing state funding, which could cost Oakland up to $30 million and hundreds of jobs.

Prop. 8 Play to Tour Country
A play about the fight over California's same-sex marriage ban is going on the road. "Eight" played for one night only on Broadway as a fundraiser for a marriage equality group. Organizers plan to run the show in states like Iowa, Maryland and New Hampshire, where same-sex marriage fights are in the works.

49ers CEO Gives Away Playoff Tickets
San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York says he's offering four tickets and pre-game passes for this Sunday's playoff game. He offered the prize via Twitter to whoever can give him the best reason for handing them over.
