49ers Beat Saints To Advance to Championship Round Against Giants
In sports, for the first time in 14 years, the 49ers are one win away from the Super Bowl. San Francisco beat the New Orleans Saints on Saturday, 36-32, to reach the NFC championship game, Sunday afternoon at Candlestick versus the New York Giants.
Owner of Kepler's Books Retires
The owner of one of the Peninsula's few remaining independent bookstores is retiring at the end of the month. Clark Kepler is handing over the reins at the Menlo Park institution his father founded in 1955.
