High-Speed Rail Costs Up, But Also Profitability
Officials with California's high-speed rail line now say the system will cost nearly two-and-a-half times more than projections when it was proposed several years ago. The new business plan puts the cost at more than $98 billion. Despite the higher cost, the business plan projects the system being profitable even at the lowest estimated ridership levels.

Study Shows Disparaties Between Asian American Groups
A new study may shed some light on how Asian Americans of different ethnic groups perform in school: especially important in California. The Asian American Center for Advancing Justice finds that only 12 percent of Laotian Americans have bachelor's degrees. Compare that with 73 percent of Taiwanese Americans.

Three Officers Hurt in Police Car Crash
