Meg Whitman

Hewlett-Packard has named Meg Whitman -- former eBay CEO and California gubernatorial candidate -- as its new CEO, ousting Leo Apotheker after less than a year on the job.

The management shake-up comes as investors have grown increasingly critical of the firm's direction and the behavior of its board, which has been caught up in controversies over spying and the abrupt firing of CEO Mark Hurd last year.

Host Mina Kim talks with Crawford Del Prete, analyst and executive vice president of International Data Corporation's research group.
