Climate Change Threatens California Mussels
Climate change may be threatening one of coastal California?s most familiar creatures, the mussel. Researchers at UC Davis say mussels are vulnerable to rising acid levels, and a decline in their population could affect the entire marine ecosystem because so many species eat the mussels.

PG&E Testing Palo Alto Pipelines Soon
PG&E will test its natural gas transmission lines in Palo Alto over the next two months. Officials say the work will begin in a week or two; it won't affect service, but residents might smell natural gas as they pump water through the pipes to determine their safe operating pressures.

The A's embarrassed the Angels of Anaheim, 9-1; Oakland took 3 out of 4 games in the weekend series. Oakland is off today before heading to Detroit. The Giants beat the San Diego Padres, 4-3, in extra innings, also winning their series; San Francisco hosts the Dodgers tonight.
