SF Sheriff to Stop Complying with Federal Immigration

The San Francisco's Sheriff's Office plans to stop complying with certain requests from federal immigration officials starting tomorrow. For the last year, the Secure Communities program has required local law enforcement to share fingerprint data with immigration authorities, and has asked the county to detain certain illegal immigrants while federal officials investigate their history. But all that conflicts with San Francsico's policy to shield illegal immigrants from federal immigration investigations, says Sheriff Mike Hennessy.
