SF Supervisors Approve Rules for Mayor's Question Time
San Francisco supervisors have given initial approval to rules for monthly question periods with the mayor during the board's meetings. The rules call for Mayor Ed Lee to answer the supervisors' questions submitted in advance. Voters approved Proposition C in November, to mandate these Q&A sessions.

Survey Shows Fewer Great White Sharks in State Waters Than Expected
Researchers at Stanford and UC Davis say California has about 219 great white sharks: fewer than previously believed. They used photographs of sharks along the central coast to make the estimate. It's unclear if this represents a healthy population.
