Caltrain's Liaison to High-Speed Rail Resigns
Caltrain's liaison to California's High-Speed Rail Authority is leaving his post. Bob Doty is moving on to consult for an engineering firm that designs bullet trains. The San Mateo Daily Journal reports that firm, HNTB, is contracted to build the Peninsula section of California's high-speed train.

Hmong Leader to be Laid to Rest in Central Valley
A leading figure of the Hmong refugee community will soon be laid to rest in the Central Valley. Vang Pao led Hmong guerilla fighters, with backing from the CIA, against the communist government of Laos during the Vietnam War. He died last night in a Fresno-area hospital at age 81.
