Prop 25 Leading, Would Make Passing Budget Easier
It seems California voters may be ready to change the way state lawmakers pass the budget. A new USC/Los Angeles Times poll shows solid support for Proposition 25. That item would allow the budget to pass with a simple majority, rather than a two-thirds vote. More than half of respondents support Prop 25, just over a quarter oppose it, and 13% remain undecided. The poll also shows strong opposition to Prop 23, which would suspend California's greenhouse gas emissions law depending on the state's employment level.
