San Jose Brainstorms How to Fix Bad Roads
Government statistics show about a fifth of San Jose's roads are in poor condition. The city council meets today to brainstorm ways to improve them, armed with a report saying that fixing roads is cheaper than waiting until they must be completely replaced.
Google to Expand Investment in Renewable Energy
Google is expanding its investments in renewable energy. Today the company said it will invest heavily in a network of deepwater transmission lines, to power future wind farms. Critics question whether such a project would work on the Pacific Coast, due to the challenge of engineering deepwater projects.
