Caltrans Begins Long-term Bay Bridge Eyebar Fix
Despite the rainy weather, Caltrans plans to
get started tonight on its long-term repair on the
eastern span of the Bay Bridge. A cracked eyebar
inspectors discovered over Labor Day weekend was
repaired at the time -- but the fix snapped October
27th, sending steel crashing onto the bridge's upper
deck. Another fix was made over the course of about a
week, but now Caltrans officials are about to begin what
they say will be a more permanent fix.
