Updating California's Master Plan for Education?
For 50 years, the state's master plan for
higher education has promised an affordable college
education to any Californian who qualifies. But fee
hikes and budget cuts at the U.C. and at California
State University have made it tougher than ever for
Californians to attend a public college. State lawmakers
convene a joint hearing on Monday to discuss updating
the master plan, and how to save that higher education pledge.
