NUMMI Suppliers Brace for Worst / Tasty Treats at Eat Real Festival
Toyota's decision to shut down its operation at Fremont's NUMMI auto plant early next year will send ripples throughout the region and the state. Beyond the 4,500 workers the plant employs, there's a network of suppliers and vendors throughout California that feeds into the NUMMI production lines. Also, in Oakland, East Bay gastronomes are all set for a weekend event showcasing the marvels of 'real food.' We sample some of the wares that will be available at Oakland's Jack London Square.
