California Moves to Ban BPA
The California Assembly's health committee has approved a bill that would ban Bisphenol-A. The chemical, also called BPA, is widely used in consumer plastics and suspected by some scientists of causing a wide range of health problems. Two other states have banned BPA, and California Senator Dianne Feinstein has introduced a bill that would ban its presence in all food products nationwide. We discuss some of BPA's potential health impacts with Dr. Shanaz Dairkee of California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.
