Air Regulators Push for New Emissions Standards
California air regulators today released a final draft of a plan that calls for slashing greenhouse gas emissions in the state by about four tons per person. The plan calls for the auto industry to make cleaner cars, and for power plants to use more renewable energy. It also imposes an emissions cap on the state's major polluters.
