Fifty Years of KQED Television
Fifty years ago today, KQED television signed on the air in San Francisco with a borrowed transmitter atop the Mark Hopkins Hotel. KQED was just the sixth non-commercial public television station in the country. In a half century, KQED has broadcast some memorable events in politics and culture. Hear some of those moments.
