A House of Representatives committee in Washington, D.C., met to discuss the condition and safety of the nation's sprawling pipeline system. The hearing was to focus on an oil spill in Michigan over the summer--but last week's natural gas blast in San Bruno took center stage as an example of the dangers posed by aging infrastructure.
