School Scores ... Whale Watching
School Test Scores Up, But More Schools Fail
California's public school test scores are going up, but so too is the number of schools that fail federal standards. Nearly 3,200 schools -- more than half of the state's total -- are labeled as failing, or needing what's known as "program improvement", under the standards from the No Child Left Behind Act.
Good Season For Whale Watching
It's a great time for whale watching in Northern California. Sightings are nothing new, but locals say this year they're seeing more than usual. Experts say there are more small animals in the water, called krill, that whales love to eat.
