Paving the Way from Community College to CSU
A lot of community college students get their associate degrees after two years and go on to California State University. But that transfer process has often been complicated because the state's community colleges all set their own graduation requirements, and State Universities set different entrance requirements for those community college transfers. But that may change with the passage of SB 1440. The bill requires Cal State campuses to guarantee admission as a junior to California students who have earned associate degrees. Host Cy Musiker talks to state Sen. Alex Padilla, a Democrat representing the San Fernando Valley, who sponsored SB 1440.
