Calif. Broadband Projects Get Stimulus Dollars
Seven California-based broadband projects are receiving federal stimulus grants. The funding, announced today, benefits groups like ZeroDivide, a San Francisco-based nonprofit. The group will get about $2 million to expand broadband usage among Native American tribes and low-income youth.
State High Schoolers Outpace Natl. Average on ACT
California high schoolers outpaced national averages on their readiness to take college courses. Thirty-one percent met all four of the ACT test's benchmarks in basic subjects, seven percent higher than the national average.
