Download audio (MP3)

Film archivist Richard Prelinger has been collecting rare advertising, industrial and amateur films for more than 25 years. In his latest project, "Lost Landscapes of San Francisco," Prelinger uses home movies, old newsreels and other lost and found footage to take viewers on a thrilling ride through the last century. We talk to Richard and Megan Prelinger about this project and their Prelinger Library in downtown San Francisco.

Host: Michael Krasny

Guests:

  • Megan Prelinger, co-founder of the Prelinger Library
  • Richard Prelinger, archivist, writer, filmmaker and co-founder of the Prelinger Library and the Prelinger Archives, a collection of more than 50,000 advertising, educational, industrial and amateur films that was acquired by the Library of Congress in 2002
