Wither California?

Download audio (MP3)

For the first time since 1938, California's annual income tax collections may fall. The Governor recently told legislative leaders that if three of the six budget-related ballot measures fail next week, the state faces a $21.3 billion deficit. The program takes a closer look and ponders California's fiscal future with guests: Bill Whalen, research fellow at the Hoover Institution; Stu Woo, staff reporter with the Wall Street Journal and Phil Angelides, former two-term CA State Treasurer and CA Democratic Nominee for Governor in 2006.

Host: Michael Krasny

Guests:

  • Bill Whalen, research fellow at the Hoover Institution
  • Dave Cogdill, CA state senator of the 14th District
  • Loni Hancock, CA state senator of the 9th District.
  • Phil Angelides, former two-term CA State Treasurer and CA Democratic Nominee for Governor in 2006
  • Stu Woo, staff reporter with the Wall Street Journal
