Download audio (MP3)

A Government Accountability Office report released Thursday shows that critical preparations for the 2010 census are behind schedule. We take up the U.S. census which, every 10 years, determines each state's number of congressional seats and how billions in federal funding are allocated.

Host: Dave Iverson

Guests:

  • Bruce Chapman, president of the Discovery Institute and former director of the U.S. Census Bureau under President Reagan
  • Philip Stark, professor of statistics at UC Berkeley
  • Ralph Lee, regional director for the U.S. Census Bureau
  • Terri Ann Lowenthal, consultant for The Census Project, a coalition of census stakeholders interested in promoting a fair and accurate census
