Proposition 5

Download audio (MP3)

Prop. 5 would dramatically change the way drug addicts who commit low-level crimes are prosecuted. Under the measure, about 18,000 addicts would be diverted from prison. Opponents say the measure gives repeat offenders a free pass out of prison.

Host: Michael Krasny

Guests:

  • Daniel Abrahamson, director of legal affairs for the Drug Policy Alliance
  • Judge Stephen Manley, Santa Clara County Superior Court
