Becoming Mark Twain

Humorist Mark Twain was a slacker before becoming an American cultural icon. So says Roy Morris Jr., who chronicles the life and times of Samuel Clemens during his travels to the west coast following miserable failures in the confederate army and as a riverboat captain. Morris joins us in-studio to discuss his book, "Lighting Out for the Territory: How Samuel Clemens Headed West and Became Mark Twain."
Host: Michael Krasny
Guests:
- Roy Morris Jr., author and editor of Military Heritage magazine
