Oakland Gang Injunction
Last week, Oakland's city attorney asked for a court order limiting street gang activity in a defined 100-block radius in the northern part of the city. The move was welcomed by police and some neighborhood groups, but critics, including the ACLU, say such injunctions are ineffective and infringe the rights of individuals to associate freely.
