Toyota Still Coy on NUMMI
Toyota is denying a report that it has decided to pull out of the NUMMI plant in Fremont. NUMMI, which stands for New United Motor Manufacturing Incorporated, was established in 1984 as a joint venture between Toyota and General Motors. Last month, GM announced it was giving up its stake in NUMMI.
