Nonprofits Still Hurting / Lending Declines in Minority Communities
The Bay Area's nonprofit sector continued to erode last year, while demand for services surged. A new survey by the United Way found the recession is far from over for Bay Area nonprofits. Also, a new report finds that in 2008, prime lending in minority communities declined more than twice as much as it did in predominately white neighborhoods.
